Role Types

Role Types

As an Admin with Owner permissions you'll have access to the Role Types settings.

These settings are used by Admin when creating and staffing Jobs.

To access these Settings navigate to SETTINGS and then select APP SETTINGS.

Settings>App settings.

Under the Workforce header, click on Role Types.

Role types.

Role Types are a fundamental building block of the Liveforce platform. Your account needs at least one Role Type to work. All Jobs that you create in the platform will require you to select a Role Type.

Role Types are the name given to the job function or job description that a Crew member will undertake on a Job. For example, you may require a ‘Team Lead’ and some ‘Crew’ to work on a Job.

The number and type of Role Types your company has should reflect the needs of your business. Some companies only have a few core Role Types while others have extensive lists.

Role Types are managed on the Crew profiles and are either selected by the Admin or directly by the Crew themselves. This depends on how you’ve set up Role Type management on the App Settings > Settings page.

If Crew are able to manage their own Role Types then they would select them from their Profile within the Crew App.

Managing Roles.

If Admins are managing Role Types they can select them from the Crew’s Profile on the Workforce page.

There are two types of Role Types. Customised and centralised.

Customised Roles

Customised Role Types allow you to add and create the name of a Role Type that best reflects your business's requirements. To do this click the ADD CUSTOMISED ROLE button and give the Role a name.

It is also possible to set the default hourly fee for this Role Type if required. This data will be automatically pulled through when creating a Job with this Role Type included.

Centralised Roles

Role Types can also be selected from the Centralised list. Turn on the Role Types you would like active. There is no need to click a SAVE button when activating or deactivating Role Types in the Centralised list.

Active Role Types are visible as an option in the Crew profiles in both the Admin App and Crew App, and when creating a new Role in a Job.

Most companies turn off all of the Centralised Role Types and add their own Customised Role Types to best reflect the needs of the business.
